a little about me and my style....

Photography is in my heart and is as much a part of me as my arms and legs.  The best part of my job is hands down the people that I meet along the way.  Getting to know someone through my lens is so very rewarding and fun. I feel quite lucky to have landed this cool gig I call a job.  It is really so much more for me.

my style

Simple.  No perfection required. I strive to capture the real-ness of each person.  I need you to be yourself and nothing more.

I will spend time capturing details about your kids. big gorgeous eyes, wispy hair, long eyelashes, silly faces, pouty lips...you know, that kind of stuff.  The important stuff that you love so much about them.  The things you will always remember.

I will also spend time capturing the little details I see.  a found ladybug in the palm of a hand, a tin of crayons, a loved 'blankie', a little hand holding a flower, those simple things that made the session special.  These are sometimes my favorite images to photograph.

I keep things as natural as possile, without posing anyone.  I will simply direct you a bit and let life unfold while I snap away.

Call me, book a session...lets have some fun!

25 from seattle…..

i was in seattle for a long weekend…..and had the best time.  i was with my cousin….to visit her son, who is stationed there with the army.  he is 19 and a foot taller than me.  he is working hard at becoming a fabulous grown up. he was in my wedding long ago….when he was three. time flies! it was great to see seattle through his eyes. xox zane!  seattle was eye candy for me and my iphone.  what a great city….so full of life and color.  below are 25 favorite shots, with details below.

1. hanging out downtown, outside of the space needle.

2. high in the sky…..

3.  fish and chips.  i was looking forward to this meal for weeks before the trip.  it did not disappoint!

4. silly me.

5. beecher’s cheese. some very good mac and cheese, but not as good as my moms.

6. the gum wall. both interesting and disgusting…..

7. pinball anyone?

8. pike street market. old brick is beautiful.

9. fresh flowers everywhere

10. back door

11. quick stop

12. adventurous times had here

13. perfect placement. my favorite shot from the trip.

14. the city on the water.  seattle has it all, the ocean, the mountains and the city all in between.  love, love, love this city.  i hope to be back again!

15. good coffee

16. diner view.  loved this diner……it was an original.

17. aboard the ferry. hoping there wouldn’t be any rescues on my trip.

18.  leaving it behind.  we headed to orcas island one afternoon north of seattle.  the island was both intriguing and beautiful. it had me plotting schemes to move there as soon as possible.

19. overboard. leaning over to get this shot was a bit frightening.

20. ferry boat puzzle.  perfect activity for the dark ride home. different puzzles were scattered around the indoor waiting area. we puzzled and laughed and joked. it was great.

21. the long walk.  when we first arrived at the island we just started driving and stopping and looking and driving some more.  we hit a dead end and stopped to find a long dock leading out to the ocean.

22. moran state park.  the perfect place to camp with my boys!

23. along the way.  we saw many boats along the way to the island.  this was my favorite.

24. mossy walk.  there was moss everywhere in the forest.  like soft, green carpet everywhere.  magical really.

25. beautiful, mossy tree.
